As part of the BMWi (Bundesministeriums für Wirtschaft und Energie – Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy) market development programme, AHP International is organising a business trip for companies in the games sector to the Czech Republic from 29 to 31 January 2020. The business trip focuses on supporting German companies in establishing and expanding business contacts in the games industry in Prague and Brno.
With 31 new video games in 2018, the Czech games industry generated a 34% increase in revenues compared to 2017. With an estimated turnover of EUR 68 million in 2019, the Czech Republic is therefore very attractive for German companies, both as a sales market and as a cooperation partner. As in Germany, the mobile games segment is growing most strongly and is expected to generate sales of EUR 32 million in 2019.
Czech video and computer games such as Mafia, AMA and Kingdom Come have been playing on the international gaming scene for some time now. The studios Bohemia Interactive, 2KCzech, and Warehorse Studios have thus repeatedly placed themselves on an equal footing with the international stars of the gaming industry and other up-and-coming Eastern European developers.
The game – Verband der deutschen Games-Branche e.V. acts as a trade partner from Germany. GDA, the most important Czech industry association, actively supports the trip on site.
